Kejriwal’s Health Update: Atishi Reveals Diabetic Status, Tihar Jail Responds

Amid ongoing accusations from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) regarding the treatment of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Tihar jail, the party disclosed on Friday that Kejriwal has taken legal action by filing a petition in the Rouse Avenue Court, seeking access to insulin while in prison. AAP leaders have voiced concerns over Kejriwal’s health, asserting that he is a “severe diabetic” who is allegedly not receiving adequate medical attention behind bars.

Statement from Tihar Jail Concerning Kejriwal’s Health: Low Blood Sugar Levels

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) countered these claims during a court hearing on Thursday, alleging that Kejriwal has been regularly consuming high-sugar foods such as bananas, and sweets despite being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. The ED suggested that Kejriwal’s dietary choices might be part of a strategy to establish grounds for medical bail or transfer to a hospital.

In response, Kejriwal’s legal representatives refuted the ED’s assertions, clarifying that while Kejriwal did consume mangoes on multiple occasions while in jail, he also partook in aloo-puri as Navratri prasad, indicating that his food choices are not necessarily indicative of deliberately seeking medical bail.

Moreover, the AAP has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating a conspiracy against Kejriwal, expressing apprehensions about his well-being while incarcerated. The party has been vocal in its allegations, claiming that Kejriwal’s health is being compromised in jail and asserting that “anything can happen with him.”

These developments underscore the escalating tensions between political factions, with the AAP and BJP locked in a contentious battle over Kejriwal’s health and treatment in prison. As the legal proceedings unfold and the accusations persist, the spotlight remains firmly fixed on the fate and well-being of Delhi’s Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, the legal saga surrounding Kejriwal continued, as he found himself embroiled in an excise policy-linked money laundering case, leading to his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate. Currently, he resides in the confines of Tihar jail, a significant development in the ongoing legal battle.

Against this backdrop, Sanjay Singh, an AAP Rajya Sabha MP, stepped forward to voice his concerns regarding Kejriwal’s safety and well-being. Singh reiterated the party’s stance, alleging a deep-rooted conspiracy against Kejriwal and cautioning against potential dangers he might face while incarcerated. He went on to accuse the BJP of being capable of resorting to extreme measures, including physical harm, to silence political opponents.

Singh also took aim at BJP leaders, criticizing them for making light of Kejriwal’s health issues and perpetuating misinformation through various media channels. He specifically questioned the dissemination of a purported diet chart of Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate, given the strict regulations prohibiting the disclosure of an inmate’s health-related information.

Meanwhile, Delhi Cabinet minister Atishi added fuel to the fire by alleging a nefarious plot to harm Kejriwal by depriving him of essential provisions, such as home-cooked meals and insulin, while in jail. However, these allegations were swiftly refuted by the prison authorities, adding another layer of complexity to the unfolding narrative surrounding Kejriwal’s incarceration.

Following Kejriwal’s incarceration, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) raised concerns about his well-being, alleging a significant decline in his health since his arrest on March 21. However, Tihar jail promptly issued a statement refuting these claims, asserting that Kejriwal’s vital signs remained stable and that his weight had remained constant at 65 kg since his admission to the facility.

AAP leader Atishi echoed these concerns, accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of jeopardizing Kejriwal’s health by subjecting him to imprisonment. The ongoing legal proceedings and the allegations surrounding Kejriwal’s health underscored the intensity of the political drama unfolding in Delhi.

Delhi minister and prominent AAP leader, Atishi, voiced her concerns through a public platform, expressing distress over the deteriorating health of Arvind Kejriwal, who she described as a severe diabetic. Atishi emphasized Kejriwal’s unwavering commitment to serving the nation, despite grappling with significant health challenges.

In a pointed accusation against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Atishi contended that the party’s actions, particularly Kejriwal’s incarceration, posed a grave threat to his health. She insinuated that by subjecting him to imprisonment, the BJP was directly endangering Kejriwal’s well-being.

Atishi concluded her statement with a stark warning, suggesting that if anything were to befall Arvind Kejriwal, the repercussions would extend far beyond mere political consequences. She invoked a sense of moral accountability, suggesting that not only would the entire nation, but even divine forces, find it unforgivable if harm were to befall Kejriwal.

Amidst growing concerns about Arvind Kejriwal’s well-being during his incarceration, Tihar Jail issued an official statement addressing the matter. The statement clarified that since Kejriwal’s admission on April 1, he underwent examinations conducted by two medical professionals, both of whom reported that all his vital signs were within normal ranges.
