Lok Sabha 2024: Hyderabad Police Action & BJP’s Nomination
Amidst the meticulous preparations for the highly anticipated Lok Sabha Election 2024, a notable incident recently unfolded, casting a spotlight on the electoral arena. This incident revolved around the Hyderabad Police taking legal action against none other than Union Home Minister Amit Shah, following allegations of violating the Model Code of Conduct during a pivotal election rally.

Reddy contended that this perceived violation warranted immediate action, prompting the Hyderabad Police to register a case against Shah. During the rally scrutinized by Reddy, a child was observed holding a BJP symbol, a clear contravention of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). Reddy swiftly escalated the matter by communicating his concerns via email to the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO). His actions were guided by the recent directive from the Election Commission, which explicitly prohibited the involvement of children in election-related activities.

Following Reddy’s formal complaint, election authorities promptly referred the matter to the Hyderabad police for a thorough investigation. Subsequently, an FIR was lodged against Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alongside other implicated individuals such as senior BJP leader T Yaman Singh, G Kishan Reddy, and legislator T Raja Singh.
The case was registered under IPC Section 188, addressing violations of orders issued by public servants. As the inquiry progresses, authorities are meticulously scrutinizing the details to ascertain the veracity of the alleged violation.
In parallel to these unfolding developments, the BJP made a significant announcement regarding its candidate for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency. Madhavi Latha emerged as the party’s nominee, poised to challenge the incumbent Member of Parliament and All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief, Asaduddin Owaisi.
