The Indian adaptation of the Russo Brothers’ Citadel, previously headlined by Priyanka Chopra, is now led by Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan. The first poster of the series, titled Citadel: Honey Bunny, was unveiled by Prime Video India, eliciting excitement from eager fans awaiting its release.

“Citadel: Honey Bunny features a gripping storyline that blends the adrenaline-fueled excitement of a gritty spy thriller with the heartwarming essence of a romantic tale, all against the vibrant backdrop of the 90s,” revealed the statement. The yellow poster showcased glimpses of Varun and Samantha’s characters, portrayed as spy agents wielding guns with focused determination. Additionally, the announcement introduced the remaining cast, including prominent Indian actors such as Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar, Kashvi Majmundar, Saquib Saleem, and Sikandar Kher.
Last April saw the debut of Citadel, created by the Russo Brothers, exclusively on Prime Video, with Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra portraying elite agents Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh, respectively. With the Indian adaptation announced, speculation arose about whether it was a remake. Priyanka Chopra clarified on Instagram, “it is not a REMAKE!!” The Indian version is a spin-off, with adaptations planned in Spanish, Italian, and Mexican.

To the tune of “Raat Baaqi,” Dhawan and Ruth Prabhu debuted the 1990s-set television series, featuring action scenes with adversaries. Details about the program were revealed at Prime Video Presents, the slate announcement event.
